UCL: Familiar Foes, Spurs, Man City Trade Tackles For Glory

The UEFA Champions League get more intriguing at the quarterfinals stages with eight teams, including four from the English Premier League consisting of Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurs engage other teams from across Europe to battle for semi-final tickets of Europe’s topmost club laurel.

Both teams got into the quarterfinals courtesy of assertive victories over two German clubs, Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund.

Manchester City, was reckless in dismissing Schalke 10-2 on aggregate, while Tottenham had a 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund across two legs.

Manchester City will be working to avoid the pitfalls of the quarter final, the same stage they were bundled out of the competition last year by Liverpool while Tottenham did not survive the Round of 16 stage courtesy of a 4-3 loss to Juventus of Italy.

In their last five encounters in the EPL, Manchester City has won four, Tottenham won none and both teams have drawn one game.

Manchester City are visiting Tottenham at their newly completed stadium on Tuesday, April 9, for the first leg and Tottenham will also visit City at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday 17th, April for the return game.
