Why I Dropped Salah -Egyptian Coach Explains

The Coach of the Pharaohs of Egypt, Hector Cuper, has given reasons why he dropped Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah from the Egyptian party to Asaba for Tuesday’s international friendly against Nigeria.

Cuper said he personally dropped the reigning CAF Player Of the Year, from the Egyptian squad to give room to fresh players as part of the build-up to the 2019 AFCON.

“I decided not to bring Sallah because I want to watch the new players in the team by given them an opportunity to play and be part of the team,” Cuper said in a pre-match press briefing in Asaba on Monday morning.

Egypt will host the first summer African Cup of Nations in June.
